From theory to practical application

This training combines theory and practice to raise awareness of sustainable refrigeration. Participants learned about the environmental impact of ozone-depleting and high-global-warming-potential refrigerants, as well as the international agreements that regulate them, including the Montreal Protocol, Kyoto Protocol, and Kigali Amendment. The primary focus is on transitioning to natural, low-global-warming-potential refrigerants.

Participants gained hands-on experience in HCFC recovery, hydrocarbon handling, and safe charging, discharging, and recovery procedures, while strictly adhering to safety procedures and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) for flammable materials.

Strengthening market-relevant skills

By leveraging private sector expertise and infrastructure, the initiative strengthens workforce readiness and ensures that training aligns with real market needs. This approach highlights how collaboration with the private sector can support the transition toward more sustainable and energy-efficient cooling solutions in Egypt.
