The call for ideas for Cool Up's demonstration projects is now open! Selected projects will serve as role models for an accelerated and broad uptake of sustainable cooling in the MENA region and Türkiye. Successful applicants will be eligible to receive a range of support from Cool Up, including technical assistance, funding, and/or marketing support.

Jordan's Ministry of Environment cites Cool Up programme policy recommendations in development of national cooling plan
In a meeting on 4 August 2022, the Jordan Ministry of Environment Secretary General Dr. Mohammed Al Khashashneh discussed the preparation for the launch of Jordan's national plan for sustainable air conditioning and refrigeration. In his discussion, Dr. Al Khashashneh cited that the national cooling plan will be developed according to the policy recommendations provided by the Cool Up programme.
Q&A - Sustainable Commercial Refrigeration: A Cool Approach to Keeping Food Fresh
As a part of the 2022 celebration of World Refrigeration Day, Cool Up hosted a webinar focused on the benefits of using natural refrigerants for commercial refrigeration. The webinar's guest speakers included, Mr. Olaf Schulze from Metro and Mr. Firas Abdin from Abdin Industrial both answered several audience questions related to sustainable commercial refrigeration in Europe and the MENA region. Audience members sent in several questions to the speakers who drew on their previously presented case studies and decades of experience to provide thorough and thought-provoking answers for future commercial refrigeration development across the industry.
