26-28 March 2025, Vodice, Croatia
INTER-KLIMA 2025
Inter Klima 2025, held in conjunction with Klima-forum, became the largest gathering of experts in cooling, ventilation, and air-conditioning. Co-organized by four universities and supported by international scientific organizations, the event brought together leading voices in heating, refrigeration, energy conversion, and building technologies. Cool Up contributed to the dialogue by presenting policy advancements and engaging with experts on sustainable cooling solutions.
The conference covered a wide range of topics including zero emission buildings, smart readiness of buildings, EU regulation updates, low GWP refrigerants, renewable district heating and cooling, seasonal thermal energy storage, life-cycle GWP of buildings, and renovation passports.
As part of Cool Up’s contribution, Sinisa Prodanovic from Öko Recherche GmbH (consortium partner of Cool Up programme) presented Cool Up’s latest publication titled “Latest Developments in National Cooling Strategies and National Cooling Action Plans in the MENA Region and Türkiye”. The paper explored recent policy efforts supported by the Cool Up programme.
- Development of National Cooling Strategies (NCS) and National Cooling Action Plans (NCAP) to address cooling needs holistically.
- Methodological approaches to data collection, analysis, and stakeholder engagement.
- Modeling results illustrated through graphs, showing projected emissions under various scenarios.
- Identification of strategic intervention areas and policy measures to promote energy efficiency and the adoption of natural refrigerants.
- Frameworks for monitoring and evaluation to support long-term implementation and impact tracking.
These plans are instrumental in shaping sustainable cooling pathways across the MENA region and Türkiye.
