Cool Up’s contribution

On October 8th, Cool Up’s Alexander Pohl (Guidehouse), Eslam Mahdy (Guidehouse) and Ahmed Khalil (RCREEE) hosted the action hub event “Accelerating technological change for future-proof cooling by strengthening regional capacities” on the importance of trainings and capacity building to upscale sustainable cooling in the MENA region.

On October 10th and October 11th, Cool Up’s Programme Director, Katja Eisbrenner (Director at Guidehouse), participated in two sessions entitled, respectively, “Structured consultation on A 6.4 methodologies for emission reductions and removals relevant for MENA region” and “Climate-resilient infrastructure systems: adapting to extreme weather events in urban MENA”, both organized by UNFCC.

On October 10th, Cool Up’s Programme Manager, Nesen Surmeli-Anac (Associate Director at Guidehouse), spoke at an Action Track Event entitled “Forging Pathways for Building Decarbonisation and Resilience in MENA”, organized by UN Habitat and GlobalABC.

Our Cool Up experts paved the way for enlightening discussions and future collaboration across the sustainable cooling sphere in the MENA region and beyond. The event was a great success and forged many meaningful connections.
