Cool Up at MOP38
The Cool Up programme will participate in the 38th Meeting of Parties to the Montreal Protocol (MOP), taking place from 02 -06 November 2026 at the in Kigali, Rwanda. MOP38 brings together representatives of the Montreal Protocol’s 198 Parties, along with experts, implementing agencies, industry stakeholders, and international organisations to discuss key issues related to ozone layer protection and climate-friendly cooling.
As Parties gather for the 38th Meeting of the Parties (MOP38) to the Montreal Protocol, discussions will focus on advancing the implementation of the Montreal Protocol and the Kigali Amendment, including progress on refrigerant transitions, energy efficiency, emissions monitoring, and sustainable cooling solutions. MOP38 also takes place during the 10th anniversary year of the Kigali Amendment, providing an opportunity to reflect on achievements to date and identify priorities for accelerating climate-friendly and energy-efficient cooling worldwide.
During the meeting, Cool Up partners will engage with policymakers, National Ozone Units, technical experts, and development partners, while sharing experiences and lessons learned from advancing sustainable cooling across the MENA region and Türkiye. The programme will contribute practical insights on how implementation, capacity building, policy development, and evidence-based decision-making can support the transition to energy-efficient and climate-friendly cooling technologies.
The team looks forward to connecting with partners and stakeholders at MOP38 and contributing to global discussions that support effective Kigali Amendment implementation and the continued advancement of sustainable cooling solutions.
