During the congress, Cool Up’s Gökçen AŞAN (UNDP Türkiye) presented a paper on National Cooling Action Plans (NCAP). The presentation provided an overview of Türkiye’s current cooling sector landscape and emphasized the NCAP’s strategic importance in reducing emissions through improved building performance standards, enhanced energy efficiency, and the promotion of low-GWP refrigerants. It also demonstrated how the NCAP aligns with international commitments, including the Paris Agreement, the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol.

Key objectives of the NCAP include enhancing technical capacity, creating regional job opportunities, supporting research and development for manufacturers, and boosting the competitiveness of local outputs. By implementing these strategies, Türkiye aims to strengthen its environmental sustainability efforts while supporting economic growth and contributing to global climate action targets.
