The amendment provides for the inclusion of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), which are used in some refrigeration and air-conditioning devices, within the schedules of substances subject to the control of the Montreal Protocol, and the gradual reduction of the consumption of these substances because they are among the most powerful gases that cause global warming, especially since they have many climate-friendly alternatives that achieve efficiency and reduce in energy consumption.
