Ozone Day Celebration 2024 in Egypt
From 16-17 September 2024, Cool Up’s country partner in Egypt, the Integrated Development Group (IDG), participated in the Ozone Day celebration themed “Montreal Protocol: Enhancing Climate Action.” The event, held under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Yasmin Fouad, Minister of Environment of the Arabic Republic of Egypt, was organized by the Ozone Unit of the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency (EEAA) and focused on strengthening global collaborations for climate action.
The two-day event brought together a range of distinguished guests. On the first day, participants included Dr. Ali Abu Sena, CEO of the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency, Dr. Ezzat Louis, Director of the National Ozone Unit of the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency (EEAA), and representatives from UNDP, UNIDO, and various international organizations. The discussions centered on the critical role of the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol in enhancing climate action.
On the second day, the National Committee for Sustainable Cooling held its first official meeting following its kick-off in May 2024. During this session, Cool Up’s country partner in Egypt, the Integrated Development Group (IDG), presented insights of the current status of the National Cooling Action Plan (NCAP).
