MENA Climate Week (MENA CW) 2023

Cool Up participated in the Middle East and North Africa Climate Week (MENA CW) held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in October 2023. The conference provided a platform for policymakers, practitioners, businesses and civil society to exchange on climate solutions, barriers to overcome and opportunities realized in different regions.

Thematic group meeting in Lebanon: Cross-sectoral dialogue during Beirut Energy Week 2023

Cool Up participated in the Beirut Energy Week (BEW) held in Beirut from 20-22 September. Cool Up’s country partner in Lebanon, the Lebanese Center for Energy Conservation (LCEC), hosted the Beirut Energy Week. The two-day event covered important topics around sustainability in Lebanon and the region through a number of dedicated sessions.

The Cool Up programme at the New York City Climate week (NYC Climate Week)

On the 19th of September Cool Up and UNDP organized a joint side event during the New York City Climate Week (NYC Climate Week) in the form of an evening reception to exchange on the topic “Cooling our Climate: Uniting for Action and Implementation”. The reception gathered experts from the private, public, and finance sectors in a concerted effort to address the critical challenges posed by climate change.

26th IIR International Congress of Refrigeration (ICR2023)

The IIR works towards efficient, controlled and smart refrigeration. Every four years, their congress brings together the scientific and technical experts of refrigeration from all over the world. Cool Up will present in the session, "Empowering Women in Cooling and Refrigeration," which will highlight the role of women in sustainable cooling in different world regions.

First draft of Jordan's National Cooling Strategy shared with stakeholders

The first draft of the National Cooling Strategy (NCS) in Jordan was shared with key stakeholders during a hybrid meeting held in Amman on 20 June 2023. The meeting, organized by the Cool Up programme together with the Jordanian Ministry of Environment, aimed to present the first draft of the NCS to participating key stakeholders from public, industry and finance sector and collect feedback for the final version.
