Thematic group meeting of Jordan stakeholders in October 2023

A Thematic Group Meeting took place in Jordan, discussing key objectives, including addressing educational needs for technicians, enhancing engagement in the financial sector, and enlightening policymakers on sustainable cooling technologies and natural refrigerants. A comprehensive overview of the progress made on the National Cooling Strategy and forthcoming plans was also presented.

MENA Europe Future Energy Dialogue (MEFED)

Cool Up attended the MENA Europe Future Energy Dialogue (MEFED), 8-9 June in Jordan. MEFED aims at deepening the energy cooperation between the MENA region and Europe and is a leading forum for key stakeholders of the energy sector in both regions. The conference gave representatives across governments, industry, academia, and civil society the opportunity to share their experiences and ideas on a reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy system.

Industry and finance thematic group meeting of Jordan

This thematic group meeting brought together relevant stakeholders and decision makers in the industry and finance space in Jordan. The meeting aimed to capture the perspective of the industry and finance sectors and identify their needs, risks, challenges and best practices for the deployment of sustainable cooling technology investments in the financial services industry. Participants include manufacturers of cooling products and equipment an RAC sector associations, service technicians, installers, distributors, project developers, architects and engineers and representatives from financial institutions, among others .

Policy and regulation thematic group meeting of Jordan

This thematic group meeting brought together relevant stakeholders and decision makers in the policy and regulatory space in Jordan. Topics of discussion included programme updates, exchange of experiences, as well as discussion of policy recommendations and measures to achieve sustainable cooling. Participants included NOUs/Ministries for the Environment and other concerned ministries (e.g. Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Industry and Technology), competent authorities (e.g. for labelling and standardisation), municipalities/local authorities, and customs authorities, among others.

Thematic group meetings of Jordan stakeholders in March 2022

On 23 and 24 March, Cool Up held the second round of thematic group meetings in Jordan involving with relevant stakeholders in the policy, industry and finance spaces. The objectives of the online meetings were to collect feedback on proposed policy recommendations as well as share the experiences, challenges, and needs of stakeholders in realising the phase down of HFCs and transitioning to sustainable cooling technologies.

Thematic group meetings of Jordan stakeholders in 2021

In 2021 Cool Up organised and executed its first round of thematic group meetings in Jordan with relevant stakeholders in the policy, technology, market and finance space. The aim of the virtual meetings was to introduce stakeholders to the Cool Up programme, as well as garner insights on the barriers and opportunities around upscaling sustainable cooling in Jordan.
